Olympic Games Beijing 2008
One world one Dream
IMI is delighted to have been chosen by Presence Suisse of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by Luzern Tourismus AG to be its hospitality ambassador at the Olympic Games to be held in Beijing in 2008. Luzern – «the City, the Lake and the Mountains» – is the heartland of the Swiss tourism industry. IMI will be operating the House of Switzerland official restaurant of the Swiss delegation. The operational management of the Food and beverage outlets will be the responsibility of Gamma Catering AG who will recruit staff from IMI. Gamma Catering successfully ran the restaurant at the Swiss Pavilion during the Aichi World Exposition in Japan and will do likewise at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo. It is a great chance for the students to gain experience while working with experts in international event catering. Beijing will be a great challenge and opportunity for IMI's students and staff to represent the historic qualities of Swiss hospitality in a modern, international setting. For all participants, Beijing will provide a unique environment which will enhance career opportunities and allow students to get a truly international experience rarely available. Every effort will be made to ensure that the House of Switzerland earns a reputation as the premier dining experience in the Olympic village. Together with Luzern Tourismus AG, the School will showcase the high standards which have are associated with Switzerland and its hospitality industry.
