Career Opportunities at the
Olympic Games Beijing 2008
Career Opportunities at the Beijing Olympics IMI is delighted to have been chosen by Presence Switzerland of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by Lucerne Tourismus AG to be its hospitality ambassador at the Olympic Games to be held in Beijing in 2008. The operational management of the Food & Beverage outlets will be the responsibility of Gamma Catering AG who will recruit staff from IMI and Institut Hôtelier César Ritz. This unique opportunity is available to IMI students and graduates only who must be available for a week in June 2008 for training in Switzerland and to start employment in Beijing from the 25th July until the end of August 2008. Applications with further details will be provided via the IMI website www.imi-luzern.com from 27th August 2007. Under the direction of Gamma Catering IMI will be recruiting for the following positions in the VIP lounge, bar and banqueting: Service: Chef de Rang, Commis Kitchen: Demi Chef, Commis Chef, Chef Patissier, Commis Patissier Bar: Bartender, Bar Commis Positions are available to: IMI students this semester who will then proceed to in-training in the first half of 2008; students enrolled at IMI in 2008A; all IMI Alumni graduates IMI will screen all applications and forward to Gamma Catering who will then begin an interview process later this year. Applications for additional positions will be sourced by the Institut Hôtelier César Ritz. Flights, accommodation, meals and uniform will be supplied and a nominal amount of CHF1000 will be paid for the whole period. Please note this opportunity is primarily for volunteers who wish to enhance and apply their previous work experience. ‘Presence Switzerland’ in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Berne will assist in obtaining visas. Certificates of employment will also be issued at the end of the working period.
