Who is this programme for?
The BA (Hons) Degree in International Tourism and Events Management is a 6 month specialist programme validated and awarded by the Manchester Metropolitan University and equivalent to the final year of university study. This course allows a measure of specialization in tourism and corporate events management jointly. It is designed for those who have prior qualifications to Higher Diploma level and who intend to make their careers in the industry and wish to be best placed to achieve rapid promotion.
Requirements for Admission
- Minimum 19 years of age
- IMI Higher Diploma in Tourism Management or equivalent
- Transfers are considered from recognized Hotel/Tourism Management schools or universities
- Proficiency in English: 525 TOEFL (paper-based), 196 TOEFL (computer-based), 5.5 IELTS, or equivalent
Applicants who do not have the required English level may join the 4-week Intensive English Certificate (IEC), the 12-week University English Preparatory Course (UEPC) or the 6 months Foundation in English Studies Course (FESC).
Programme objective:
The objective of the
BA (Hons) Degree in International Tourism and Events Management programme is to equip students for the demands of senior management in the tourism and corporate events industries as well as to give them the foundation to continue onto advanced programmes at Master's level. Students receive individualised attention and the curriculum focuses on the strategic business development of tourism organizations, core subjects including international strategy and marketing, international tourism development, strategies for evaluating management decisions, MICE management as well as career planning and development.
