Farewell to our Interns!

10 August 2021

We bid a fond farewell to our F&B and Kitchen interns, Daniel and Rohan and thank them for all their hard work over the previous semester...

At IMI, we are lucky to experience excellence service in our Main Dining Hall (MDH) and this, to a large extent, is due to the efforts of our F&B and Kitchen intern students.

Over the past two terms, Malaysia's Daniel Timothy William has been our F&B intern and India's Rohan Raj Nair our Kitchen intern.

Daniel has been responsible for ensuring the setup and smooth service of each of the three weekday meals served in our MDH as well as coordinating with the student body to assist with events and activities on campus.

Based in our main production kitchen, Rohan has worked alongside our team of chefs to ensure we are provided with a variety of delicious and healthy food options in the MDH each day.

As is typical with these positions, both interns are former students here at IMI and their familiarity with the school and its operations helped with the smooth and seamless transistions when they took over their roles.

Commenting on Daniel's role as F&B Assistant, IMI's Director of Operations Professor Caldwell said: "Over the years, IMI has had many very good F&B interns so expectations are always high.

"Daniel, during the last six months at IMI, has not only met such expectations but has exceeded them to the highest of standards. His F&B and operational skills were faultless and he approached every aspect of his role positively and thoughtfully."

IMI's Head Chef John Rölli was equally impressed with Rohan's efforts in the kitchen.

"During an unusually challenging semester, Rohan has been a great support and fitted in well with the team," he said.

"We wish him all the very best for his future culinary career."

All staff members agree that both interns have been a pleasure to work alongside and are very grateful for the hard work, diligence and positive attitudes exhibited throughout their placements.
