First IMI intake at AAH

22 October 2021

We were delighted to support our Sri Lankan partner school Australasian Academy of Hospitality as they welcomed their first batch of students on the IMI degree programme...

It is always a pleasure to share our values of Swiss hospitality education with partners around the world.

One way in which we do this is to support carefully selected partner schools to run our IMI degree programme on their own campuses.

The latest partner to successfully launch our degree is the Australasian Academy of Hospitality (AAH) in Sri Lanka.

Offering our BA (Hons) degree in International Hotel and Tourism Management, students can study from Foundation to Higher Diploma level in Sri Lanka before being able to complete their degree programme with us here in Switzerland and benefit from a paid Swiss internship placement.

With 17 students joining this inaugural intake, the programme launch has been a big success and clearly proved popular with young Sri Lankan-based students looking to build a future within the hospitality industry.

To support our AAH colleagues during the induction week for the new intake, IMI’s Director of Partner Schools Prof. Gavin Caldwell joined the new students via video link to answer any questions they may have and reinforce the value of the degree path they have started upon.

Commenting on the degree launch, Prof. Caldwell said: "IMI is delighted to offer its Swiss programmes in Sri Lanka and looks forward to welcome students to IMI.

"A dedicated team of experienced professionals at AAH, along with strong academic support from IMI, will ensure an enriching student experience, in addition to joining IMI’s extensive alumni network."

We are very grateful to our colleagues at AAH for the efficient and professional way in which they have developed, marketed and launched this programme and we look forward to eventually welcoming members of this inaugural intake here on campus in Switzerland to complete their studies!
