IMI joins Chaîne des Rôtisseurs

24 May 2022

We were delighted to become the first hotel school in the German part of Switzerland to be accepted into this prestigious gastronomy association...

As a hospitality school with a strong culinary arts tradition, it was a great honour to join one of Europe's most exclusive gastronomic institutes.

Evolving from the French "goose roasters" guild that was first established in the 13th century, the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs today connects over 20'000 members from over 75 countries.

Its aim is to bring together individuals and organisations who share an appreciation of fine-dining and culinary excellence to promote the growth and development of the gastronomy industry.

Commenting on IMI's acceptance into the organisation, Dr. Thomas Kuhn, the Bailli Délégueé of Switzerland, said: "The education of professionals and future managers are the basic pillars of the success of our industry.

"We are very happy to welcome IMI as a new hotel management school to our association!"

To join the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, an institute must employ at least one professional member to ensure the association's requirements can be fulfilled. At IMI, both CEO and Academic Dean Mr. Beat Wicki and Culinary Lecturer Mr. Jonas Grip are long-standing members of the association.

In addition, an on-site assessment is carried out where the jury of the local Bailliage visit for a test meal to ensure that the all-important culinary standards are met.

IMI now becomes only the third hotel school in the whole of Switzerland to join the Chaîne and the first from the German speaking part of the country.

We believe this membership will offer a fantastic opportunity for our students and graduates to expand their global industry network and we are excited to set the standards for hospitality schools in gastronomy excellence.
