Reservations Reboot

20 October 2022

Our hospitality students have been enjoying getting familiar with a new resOS online bookings system in the Swiss Room restaurant...

Making the right choices when it comes to technology and software systems can play a huge role in the success (or otherwise) of a hospitality company.

As a hotel school with a fully operational training restaurant on campus, we also have to keep up to date with the latest trends and solutions to enhance our service offering.

We were delighted to team up with the resOS online reservations portal recently and to implement their bookings system in the Swiss Room.

The resOS system has been designed with both the customer and the restaurant staff in mind. It offers a modern and user-friendly interface that allows restaurants to be instantly responsive to bookings, cancellations or rescheduling.

Being online, it gives all staff an instant overview of the booking schedule and makes internal communication and decision making easier and more streamlined.

From an educational perspective, it is important that we can create a training environment on campus that is as close to the real-world as possible. By exposing our students to the latest technologies (and involving them in the implementation and uptake of a new system) we are recreating situations that they would be frequently exposed to in the wider industry.

Commenting on the new system, IMI F&B Academic Lecturer Lilla Fulop said: “The resOS platform has a really modern, user-friendly interface and has definitely taken our guest and restaurant management experience to a new level.”

She added: “Awareness and familiarity with these technologies is not only beneficial in the students’ everyday lives but also essential when they enter their future hospitality roles.”

Our students are already loving working with the new system and we can't wait to work closely with resOS going forward to enhance our service offering!
