Zagg Visit

We took our students to the Zagg hospitality and gastronomy trade fair which showcases the best of local Swiss produce and connects industry suppliers with hospitality businesses...

A key aspect of hospitality business success is the ability to network and work with industry partners.

Trade shows offer a great opportunity for firms to connect with industry suppliers and discover exciting new partnerships.

We are luck that one of the major Swiss hospitality and gastronomy fairs – Zagg – takes place right on our doorstep in Luzern.

As part of our commitment to giving our students as much real-world industry exposure as possible, we took them to Zagg to allow them to meet with local Swiss producers and experience how contacts and agreements are made at such events.

Hosted at the Luzern Allmend Messe events hall, Zagg brings together hundreds of Swiss gastronomy professionals, suppliers and new technology solutions.

As well as the traditional stands, it also hosts workshops, presentations and compeitions creating a real sense of interaction and allowing visitors to engage directly with industry professionals.

Sri Lankan culinary arts student Jonathan was really impressed during his first visit to the event.

“The trade show allowed me to talk to many people who develop new innovations for the culinary industry and service as well,” he said.

“I got the chance to sample their products and better understand their services which was very inspiring and encouraging for me as a culinary student,” he added.

All our visiting students thoroughly enjoyed the event and came back to campus full of inspiration!
