Bachelor of Arts with Honours

in International Hotel and Events Management

22 Weeks

This programme prepares students for the demands of senior management and allows a measure of specialisation in a combination of two fields of study; Hotel and Events. The curriculum focuses on the strategic business development of organisations in these two fields and the Dissertation allows self study and for students to further specialise. This is for students who intend to make their management careers in the industry and wish to be best placed to achieve rapid promotion.

22 week internship placements can be taken after each semester of study. To complete the BA programme, a student must have completed a minimum of 12 months of placements in total.

  • English proficiency: 5.5 IELTS or equivalent

This unit allows students to reflect on their academic and personal progression and guides them through a professional approach to employment applications, curriculum vitae development and interview skills.

This unit explores research frameworks and philosophies, methodologies and data analysis techniques to support the various stages of the dissertation writing process.

Covering all aspects of overseeing an international marketing team targeting customers from across the globe through a variety of channels and platforms.

Providing an insight into contemporary digital marketing strategies and how corporations best utilise these to increase engagement, commerce and return on investment.

Pathway units: 70 credits

This unit examines the relevant theories and practices of effective hospitality leadership and innovation. It considers how we might more effectively address the challenge of creating and sustaining competitiveness within hospitality organisations through the mechanisms of both leadership and innovation
Credits: 20
This unit focuses on the structure and organisation of the events industry and the operational knowledge required for the management of events through their various stages.
Credits: 30

The dissertation is a sustained, in-depth and independent piece of research into a self-selected topic which reflects the students pathway specialisation. Students are given a supervisor to support the writing of the dissertation and meet regularly with them to receive guidance on the process and feedback on formative submissions.
